| Newer Update 4/7/08: She went into surgery at 10:30 a.m. and put in a rod that goes from the head of the femur to down past the break. They also put screws in to hold it in place. The surgery took 3 hours, and the rod with the screws will remain in her leg permanently. She is in more pain than any other surgery in the past.
Meghan wasn't air-lifted. We found out that the insurance may not cover it,
so they brought her really slow in an ambulance to Syracuse. She didn't break her
hip, it was her femur(the largest bone in the human body) that snapped
right in half. I almost puked looking at the x-ray. Her leg was
basically only attached to her, by her skin and muscle. It happened at church up front when she went up front to ask my parents what they were doing later. She had her purse under her arm and without realizing it, she thought her purse was her crutch under her armpit. She expected it to catch her, but she fell and twisted her hip wrong and landed on her good hip. She the night before put weight on her leg at Doc on accident possible causing a small fracture that actually broke her femur into two pieces when she twisted wrong on her fall. She appreciates
the prayer and believing that this is the miracle that a famous
preacher once told her. She kept saying that he told her that it was her left
leg that would be healed, and she also kept saying that he never said
when God would heal her. So please pray for her miracle.
thanks, Dane

| I came accross this quote in a book today. It was so impacting, that I felt that it needed to be shared. "The idea of white supremacy rests simply on the fact that white men are the creators of civilization and are therefore civilizations guardians and defenders. Thus it was impossible for Americans to accept the black man as one of themselves, for to do so was to jeopardize their status of white men. But not so to accept him was to deny his human reality, his human weight and complexity, and the strain of denying the over-whelmingly undeniable forced Americans into rationalizations so fantastic that they approached the pathological." by James Baldwin (a essay writer that lived post-civil war, which is the time in American history that was extremly segregated.)

| I HAD MY FIRST ACCIDENT TODAY!!!!I had my first accident on the way home from school. I was going forty-five then it turned to 55 like 200 yards from my house, I sped up to 50 to prepare to turn in. I hit my breaks and they locked up. I tried to turn to adjust and nothing happened. It was slidding on its own. I hit a 6ft bank of snow then flew into a ditch near my house. That was so freaky. Snow flew everywhere, like an explosion.(nothing happened to my truck or me.)

| My tonsils were removed and they were going to take out my adnoids, but they said my voice would be nasaly so instead they just melted it. When they were in, they noticed that I had a "kleft" uvula. They melted that too. Now it is bigger than my pincky and a lot wider. It is hanging down and resting on my tongue. When I tilt my head it slides up and down it since it is so big. It is really awkward. I am in tons of pain. I can't even drink water. I am taking Vicadin, but it hurts so bad that it doesn't work. Other than that, my surgery went well. I will try to keep you updated. Uhgg... I am so thursty.... | | |
